In 1995 Andy's DJ career started in King’s Lynn when a local nightclub DJ asked him if he'd like a warm up set every Friday and Saturday night. With the understanding that he'd never touched a deck before, the offer was accepted. The following week Andy stood in the DJ box armed solely with a passion for house music. Although this was his debut, he thought they’d be dancing in the streets in no time. Andy soon learned it was not that easy. Just playing your favourite records would not get a crowd going, you have to work them into the music.
After a few months people were enjoying the new vibe Andy was playing. A local promoter spotted him and gave Andy his first residency for a night in Peterborough. This opened more doors and gave Andy the freedom to develop and explore his sets further. Andy's abilities really started to get noticed and he was getting to DJ all across East Anglia. When the regions biggest club opened (Summit) Andy got regular guest slots there alongside some of the countries biggest DJ names. 2001 saw Andy move to the West Midlands for other commitments, but in January 2003 Andy beat 765 DJ’s to become a finalist in a national Miss Moneypenny’s competition.

Surprisingly, Dean had never even touched any DJ equipment before May 2002. One day, the cocktail of: an obsession for house music; a boring train journey; a few beers; a copy of International DJ magazine; a credit card (with some credit available) and a mobile ‘phone, resulted in Dean ordering his first set-up. Dean practiced obsessively and 6 weeks later made his 1st passable demo, he then began playing at house parties.
Dean continued to hone his technical skills and within a year he got his first paid gig. Despite his nerves, Dean managed to impress the promoter who’d booked him and a few other promoters who happened to be there.
After his professional debut the gigs came thick and fast. Over the next few months Dean began to build his reputation and received (what he regarded as) outrageous compliments from other pro DJ’s, such as: “f*ckin’ awesome, the best DJ I’ve seen in 5 years” and “technically amazing”. Then, in March 2004 Dean appeared in i-DJ magazine as 1st runner-up in their Raw Talent competition, narrowly missing out on the prize of a gig at the legendary Ministry of Sound.
Blimey! If he can achieve this much in under 2 years, whatever must the future hold?

From 1995 to 1997 PJ’s love for house music grew. Scream @ The Warehouse in Plymouth became PJ’s home and this is where his musical style was influenced. DJ’s as diverse as: Justin Garrett; Darren Emerson; Pete Tong; Farley Jackmaster Funk and Sasha all shaped the style which PJ follows today. The BPM’s may have dropped slightly but PJ’s passion in the music and the chunky beats certainly haven’t. Six years later and his talent shines through in his mixes, playing with a style that is ‘Chunky & Funky’. His eclectic influences give an element of the unknown to his sets and his record collection is sooo big he never fails to find the right tune. PJ had been Dj’ing regularly at a variety of venues in Plymouth over the last 2 years.
Since his move to the Midlands in the Summer of 2004 he has made regular appearances for Thank Funk It’s Thursday at Bar Med in Shrewsbury and this has proven PJ’s versatility and his ability to play to an early evening bar crowd as well as play floor-fillers at peak-time.
To sum him up: PJ loves to make you boogie.
